Growth is often associated with change, new environments, new ideas, and new experiences. While growth is necessary, it can also create a subtle fear: the fear of losing oneself in the process. Many young people experience this tension, especially in academic or social transitions. As they adapt, they sometimes feel pressure to reshape their values, beliefs, or identity in order to belong.

True growth, however, does not require you to lose yourself. It requires you to become more consistent with what is true. Growth is not about abandoning your foundation; it is about strengthening it while expanding your understanding. This is where grounding becomes important. When your life is rooted in God, growth does not disorient you. It refines you. It allows you to engage new ideas without being destabilized by them.

You can learn without losing conviction. You can adapt without compromising character. You can grow without becoming unrecognizable to yourself. This kind of growth is steady, not rushed. It is thoughtful, not reactive. And it is sustainable because it is built on something deeper than external approval.

Growth is not the goal in itself.Becoming grounded while growing is the goal.
