Faith Must Become Personal

Many young people grow up around faith before they truly grow in faith. They attend church, join family devotions, hear sermons, sing hymns, and know Christian language. These are good blessings, but they are not the same as having a personal walk with God.
Faith must become personal.
No one can believe for you forever. Your parents can guide you. Your pastor can teach you. Your mentors can encourage you. Your friends can influence you. But there comes a point where you must know God for yourself. You must decide whether you will follow Christ because you are convinced, not merely because you were raised around Christian things.
The Bible says, “The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). That means faith is not only something we talk about; it is something we live by. It shapes our choices, desires, priorities, friendships, ambitions, and responses to pressure.
Personal faith begins when you stop borrowing the appearance of spirituality and begin seeking God sincerely. It begins when prayer is no longer only what your family does, but what you do because you know you need God. It begins when the Bible is no longer only a book quoted in church, but the Word you want to understand and obey.
This does not mean you will understand everything immediately. It does not mean you will never have questions. Personal faith grows through learning, asking, praying, obeying, and depending on God daily.
A God-first young person must not be satisfied with inherited religion. You need a real relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You need a faith that can stand when nobody is watching, when friends are pressuring you, when exams are hard, when prayers seem delayed, and when culture is confused.
Faith that is only copied can collapse under pressure. Faith that becomes personal can grow deep roots.

Is my faith truly personal, or am I only living around other people’s faith?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to know You for myself. Let my faith become sincere, personal, obedient, and strong. I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
